Welcome to the James' Places website
Here you’ll find all the information you’ll ever need about our various buildings and businesses. What we do, where we do it, and when we are open….. which is, by and large, nearly all the time! You’ll also find details of special events, promotions and offers and any other bits and pieces that we’d like to pass on.
If you’ve been to one of our places and liked it, why not give the others a try? They’re all different in their own way but hopefully each one will feel familiar.
Thank’s for visiting the site and a bigger thanks for visting one of our places!
Have just come back down to earth with a bump after spending three wonderful nights at this lovely hotel. The staff couldnt be more friendly and helpful, yet highly professional.Too many lovely staff to mention..but management especially couldnt do enough for us.
Recent stay with partner lovely hotel had room 11 which had bath in bedroom as well as full wet room stunning food in restaurant wonderful breakfast excellent.
Perfect place for a classy relaxing break all set in wonderful countryside close to lake district
A fine hotel in a great location in the centre of town. Stayed in room 3 which overlooks the main square. Staff were very welcoming. Although I have passed Kirkby Lonsdale many times on the way to Scotland I had never visited this charming town.
Been to Mitton several times for family occasions, always been more than happy with our time there. Certain times you can get a great deal on a room/dinner deal this is what we look for and it has always been a great time, normally mid week.
Newly refurbished. Good food. Good price. Very comfortable. I would recommend a visit as they also do rooms and the quality of the establishment shines through. We had an evening meal from the Sunday lunch menu which proved very tasty and extremely well presented.
Visited here with friends and were not disappointed. Attentative staff, good service and the food was lovely. Had all three courses and could not fault, worth a visit. I am returning in July for a wedding and I'm now looking forward to it!!
What a great place to stay, with clean, comfortable rooms and lovely staff. We took up two rooms and enjoyed a meal in the pub with our daughter and her husband joining us just before the kitchen closed but this was not a problem. It was very busy but at the same time a very relaxed atmosphere.
Me and my fiancé visited the restaurant on Friday evening for dinner and it was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, great food and excellent service. We're very much looking forward to our wedding here in 2017! :) xx
Stayed at this hotel the night before my wedding with family. Possibly i should have checked out the rooms - but turned out I had nothing to worry about as the rooms themselves were lovely. The water pressure in the showers weren't great, but there are baths as well.
We attended a small family party for our parents ruby wedding this weekend and had the 3 course Sunday lunch in one of the private dining rooms. From start to finish everything was perfect. The food was excellent and the staff all exceptional, highly recommend this venue for a party of any size.
Just back from attending a wedding at The Shireburn . The whole day was a very happy and joyful experience. The staff work extremely hard to ensure that all runs smoothly- & all is done with a smile. The food was good and the room was beautifully decorated.
We received a great deal on our stay here. We booked for the Summer sleepover deal and were upgraded to a beautiful room with a huge bed and stand-alone bath in the bedroom. Staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to accommodate our needs and wishes.
On a wet windy day we were welcomed not only by the lovely fire going but also Britney who gave us a warm welcome and particularly the manager, Andrew, who kept myself, my mum and cousin entertained. It was lunchtime and we all had half portions which were more than generous and very good value.
We held a small informal wedding reception at the Waddington Arms and we had the most perfect day, fantastic food enjoyed by all, efficient service .Asthe weather was beautiful after we had our meal we sat in the garden. We stayed and the rooms were clean and beautiful. Great breakfast too. Thanks all
Had my wedding here mid September and I just wanted to write to say firstly thank you very much to all the staff and secondly encourage anyone looking on here thinking about having your wedding at Eaves hall to do it!
I booked in here with my 82 year old mother for two nights because I could not get an accessible room in another hotel. I am so glad I did. The best thing by far in this hotel are the staff. I actually found them amazing. They were so helpful and could not do enough for us especially my Mum.
